This originally Cuban snail species is also found in Florida, the Bahamas, Barbados, Guadeloupe, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Sint Maarten and the Cayman Islands. Despite its size of maximum 3 cm, they are considered a plague as they love to eat fresh green.
During the day they can bury themselves and do not stand out, but as soon as dusk starts to get active. They lay about 30 eggs and the young grow quickly. They prefer to eat lettuce, but also cucumber and carrot.
