Dudley Zoo is moving snails for the winter
Dudley Zoo's achatina snails need extra warmth, so their caretaker Lesley Lewis housed them in the boiler room below the zoo's offices.
There are four achatina snails, the largest of which has been given the name Corris. According to Lesley, the snails need more heat during the winter months to stay active and are therefore placed in a container on the boiler. They feast on lettuce and cucumber there.
